The SWS Concert Bands would like to extend an invitation to all SWS, Janet Johnstone, Somerset and Bridlewood school families to attend our family picnic and outdoor concert, on June 1st. The weather is looking very promising, and we are hoping to see you there! Food trucks are to arrive at 5 pm and stay until 6:30 pm, the concert will begin at 7 pm, and run until approximately 8:15 pm. The school washrooms and fountains will be open to the public during the event. Any changes or updates on this event will be posted on our blog, swsmusicblog.wordpress.com.Admission: admission is by donation, and donations will be gratefully accepted at the information table near the concert “stage” on the east side of the school (opposite side from the food trucks). Proceeds will be put back into the band program, to help purchase music and other critical supplies for the band.Food Truck Information: The Perogy Boyz and Chimmis Fresh Grill food trucks will arrive at 5 pm, and they will stay until 6:30 pm. Food trucks will be set up in the parking lot at the back of the school (by the community rink); they both accept cash, debit, and credit.PLEASE NOTE: Students will NOT be supervised by SWS staff during this time.Perogy Boyz Menu: offering potato and cheese perogies with a variety of creative toppings and sides. They will also have hotdogs and hamburgers available for this event. Permits have been obtained from the City of Calgary to allow attendees to set up their chairs and blankets on the grass near the green path, and on on the soccer fields, in addition to the school grounds.Raffle Tickets:A limited number of raffle tickets are being sold for a chance to win a spring flower planter-see attached photos of the 18 inch, deluxe flower planters from Grozone Greenhouse. There will be 2 draws made; you do not have to be present to win. Tickets are $2 each, and will be available for sale up until 6:30 pm at the information table near the concert “stage”.
